Bio
Screamin’ John and TD Lind are a powerful blues-inspired Americana ensemble from Louisville, Ky. Their brand of music is influenced by blues greats such as Freddie King and Otis Rush and also has deep roots in traditional blues, the folk of Woodie Guthrie and the rock ‘n roll of Free and Humble Pie. It’s all there! It’s all exciting! It’s a refreshing blend of what makes these genres great!
The band consists of Screamin’ John Hawkins(guitar), TD Lind(vocals, piano, guitar), Jeff Crane(bass, vocals), Paul Culligan(drums) and Joel Pinkerton(harmonica). Hawkins, Lind, Crane and Culligan began their musical journey together 25 years ago in a band called Edenstreet. The band was signed to A&M Records in the late 90s, recorded an album and spent a few years touring and opening for acts such as Creed, Paul Rogers, and Reverend Horton Heat. Edenstreet disbanded after the creation of Universal Music Group and the album was shelved. Years later Screamin’ John and TD Lind decided the rekindle the fire of Edenstreet by reuniting the old members and adding the most celebrated harmonica player in the bluegrass region, Joel Pinkerton. Pinkerton has played for years to much acclaim in bands such as Hell Fish and MR2 Blue.
Screamin’ John and TD Lind have recorded and released 2 albums on Down in the Alley Records. The first “Gimme More Time” was released in 2017 and the most recent, “Mr. Little Big Man”, in October of 2019. “Mr. Little Big Man”, produced by Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame member Glyn Johns, has spent time on the Roots Top 50 Blues Album Chart and the Roots Top 50 Contemporary Blues Chart, has had international airplay and received numerous outstanding reviews.
